Edition #2- Editorial

Hi everybody!!!

BIG news First...We’ve moved! What was previously on the second floor notice board, WELL LIT, and given large bold borders of Campus BuZz (Huge thanks to the library staff) is now ALSO on the ground floor. Which, is where I presume you are standing and reading this! The second notice Board is all because of the overwhelming response and the generosity of our Principal. So CELEBRATE!!!

The Edition of Campus BuZz has more than just articles...you will find travelogues, Poetry, and the newest feature- Letters to editor. So there are three more sections you can write into. There is lots for you to read on this space...so I will stop with the editorial! Read, and appreciate...write in to the Eds to tell us what you thought. A shout out to the newly formed design team, for their efforts and success at catching your attention.

You know the mailing id- magclubsies@gmail.com

Edition #2-Letters to the Editor

Every publication deserves a response! And that response deserves another response. We realize that the following were genuine comments, but we don’t care...we reply with that all too familiar buzz in our ears...

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR-

Dear Eds,

On the article of the previous edition A Confession-

nice take...didn’t expect it to go this way.... creative.

- Akshay Bapat BE Comps

Dear Akshay,

I am sure the author appreciates your appreciation. As for us, we think you should just stop expecting, since you have a low accuracy.

Dear Eds,

I think your Wallpaper is a good idea, but can I write about the cows in college?

- Anon

Dear Anon,

WELL...since it is a CO(w)-ED college...We didn’t suppose they would mind. We asked them anyway if they would be offended and they refused to comment. We think they are chewing on it. If you do write, make sure you don’t foul up their MOO-d.

Dear Eds,

About last editions Zodiac Signs-

A very interesting article which kept my attention through all the star signs! Humour had to take the front seat...Look who's written it!
Good job Vivek! :)

- Varun Hariharan BE Comps

Dear Varun,

You found it funny?? We certainly hope you looked out for what your predictions warned you of happening! Our Ed-in-Chief laughed when he read it too, and now he is in hospital! Was your sign one among the few which was promised a good fortnight?

Hey Eds!!!

Well Congratulations on the success of Campus BuZz. Who knew it would be such a hit.

- Adiya Kelkar TE EXTC

Dear Aditya,

Thank you. Also we enjoy such letters displaying such confidence. We knew all along it would be a hit, do you know now?

Dear Eds,

I loved reading the wallpaper, I read it all in one go; I wished there was more to read. Any chance you will be putting up more stuff to read in future editions, and do we get attendance for reading it during lectures?

- Low on attendance

Dear Low,

We asked our in house doctor, and he seemed worried that you had an overdose of the wallpaper. He prescribes one article per break. Free attendance will be prescribed if you can afford the doctors fees.

Dear Eds,

The College wallpaper is a great idea. Could we have an agony aunt section...where we can pour out problems and seek answers?

- Troubled soul

Dear Troubled,

It is troubling us that you would request for agony aunts after reading the wallpaper. We agonized over the reasons for your troubles, and figured that like any other collegian you are referring to assignments. NO WE CANNOT SUPPLY ANSWERS.

P.s. mail in to assignment_help_4u@gmail.com

Dear Eds,

I really like to read the wallpaper, but since you have 3 categories, and about 450 words says bring in a chair, could you like keep some near the notice board??????

- Easwaran TE PPT

Dear Easwaran,

If you promise to return the Bed we provided to you last time.

Edition #2- Travelouges-Pondicherry

Travelogue

Pondicherry

by Shradha Aiyer TE CE

I begged for a break after brain wrecking sem-4 exams! A whimsical offer for Pondicherry came as a life saver! Mom and I are travel buddies and our philosophy is “pack-your-bags-in-a jiffy-and fly off into the sunset”!

Pondicherry won our heart with a simple phrase ‘The seven day weekend’. Pondicherry is quaintest district in all of India. This little treasure hugs the Bay of Bengal, a short drive from Chennai along the East Coast Road.

Pondicherry or Pudu-cheri is “NEW TOWN” with an ancient history, the influence of the 17th Century colonisers- the French, the Dutch, and the English, still very much alive.

Pondicherry has distinct French-and Indian Quarters. The French Quarter displays century old heritage buildings lovingly restored to their original glory! Everything has a French touch! The French grid pattern and perpendicular streets ensures you can’t get lost!. Most interestingly, streets retain their French names- “Rue de la Bussey”! The French invasion doesn’t end here. French onion soup, French wines and crepes, perfumes- even French uniform for the police you have it all! The Indian quarters are as confused as any other town.

Our UNESCO award winner heritage hotel L’Orient is tucked into the French Quarters. As soon as we arrived, such bliss! Sixteen rooms, each one unique; with colonial decor.Lo! We had entered the 17th Century!

We could hear the ocean from our room. Creole food for lunch had us napping! Stepping out, the June weather was surprisingly pleasant. Our first stop was Aurobindo ashram, a must visit while in Pondicherry. We were struck with the calming yet powerful energy around the Samadhi of Sir Aurobindo and the Mother. It was tough dragging mom away from their book Shoppe.

Wandering in the bustling bazaar, we were delighted to discover the factory outlet of Hidesign- the landmark of Pondicherry Industry! Such bargains! Tough to resist their trendy leather bags. A pink delight was mine at last!

Mom and I opted for a French dinner at the romantic restaurant ‘Rendezvous’.

And a post-dinner walk along the well-lit festive Bay road. With waves crashing, my toes sunk into cool soft sand, and the sound of laughter all around me, I finally let go of my exam stress. Sighing deeply, I sent a prayer to the BIG GUY up there for this time called life!

Edition #2-Reminiscence

Reminiscence

By Arpita Samanta TE EXTC

Seems like just yesterday,
Sitting huddled under the berry tree
Boasting about our days victories
We feasted on the stock of berries
On that glorious day, years ago
No worry ,not a care was there to bother us.

Do you recollect that sunny afternoon?
When towards the lawn sprinklers ,
We charged, leaping and screaming!
All drenched in water, from head to toe.
Your mum stormed at us, at the doorstep
As we stood with mischievous and mirthful giggles!

All secrets we shared, swearing to take them
To our graves. Shamelessly crying and laughing.
Warring and making up in no time.
A promise to stay together, written on paper,
Sealed into a bottle, safely under the soil lies
Everything faded away, with passage of time

Even through changing course of life,
And swiftly moving times, I often hear a beckon,
Resonating from the boulevard
Adorned with cherished recollections,
Of our countless childhood antics
And all the playful times we shared.

It amazes me now , to see us change so radically
When we have chosen our paths apart.
I m searching for the reason why,
Its all come down to an occasional
Hi, whats up? Been a long time
Spanning into an unexplained silence.

They say , now the world is much smaller

Then why does it seem like,
You and me have distanced, moved farther away?
Now we stand aloof, staring at each other
At a grave loss of words to share,
And only withering memories to recall
